Three tasks: distance, duration, and landing.
Launch and distance (flying
the legs) is definitely exciting. The thermal duration portion
which follows must be 10 minutes long in international competition;
we shortened it to 2 minutes to keep things flowing. The landing
at the end of the duration is worth up to 30 points, depending
how close the plane lands at the center of a 30-meter circle.
