The original: Built
in 1923, this tandem-seater was an immediate success and won
many contests. In 1927, it won an altitude record of 6000 m
and a distance record of 1305 km.
The
model: Using original plans and drawings, the plane was
recreated in CAD programming and meticulously designed for scale,
light weight, and high strength. the near scale metal fittings
have been structurally analyzed and optimized using FEM computer
technology. The result is not just a true-to-scale model on
the outside, but one which is very near scale on the inside
and even in its assembly. The photos here are worth a thousand
